My favorite was the Tin Can Tree (Tincanis campbellsoupia), described as “an example of biomimicry,” having evolved an outer bark, resembling a tin can. I especially like the contained “growth rings” which, to me, suggest a kind of “stirring up” of the genetic contents.
Unfortunately the person who ‘discovered’ the “Tin Can Tree” must remain anonymous, since the names were redacted. I guess this was to insure impartial voting as per contest rules.Randy Ludacer
